Developmental expression of the arabidopsis cyclin gene cyc1At.

چکیده
In eukaryotes, the control of cell cycle progression is exercised by heteromeric protein kinase complexes composed of a cell cycle-dependent, kinase-related subunit (Cdc2) and a cyclin subunit. To explore the possibility that cyclin transcription plays a role in the developmental regulation of cell division, we examined the spatial and temporal expression of a cyclin gene (cyc1At) in Arabidopsis. In root and shoot apical meristems and during embryogenesis, cyc1At expression is almost exclusively confined to dividing cells. A cell-specific pattern of cyc1At expression was noticed in root meristems. We examined the effects of induction of cell division of differentiated cells on cyc1At expression. During lateral root formation, induction of cyc1At expression is a very early event and was detected before anatomical modifications were visible. Treatment of roots with oryzalin, which blocks cell division in metaphase, did not inhibit the auxin induction of cyc1At, suggesting that induction of cyc1At expression precedes the completion of the first division cycle after induction of lateral roots. In tobacco protoplasts, an increase in cyc1At expression was observed only when cell division was induced. Together, the results suggest that Cyc1At accumulation in Arabidopsis is transcriptionally regulated and might be one of the limiting factors for the activation of cell division.

Genes regulating the plant cell cycle: isolation of a mitotic-like cyclin from Arabidopsis thaliana.
A key element of cell cycle control in eukaryotes is the M-phase kinase, composed of p34cdc2 and cyclin. To dissect the plant cell cycle, we have previously isolated a cdc2 gene homolog from Arabidopsis thaliana. We have now cloned an Arabidopsis cDNA corresponding to cyclins. This gene (cyc1At) encodes a protein with a predicted molecular mass of 48.4 kDa and a domain homologous to the cyclin ...
متن کاملP-96: Appositional Expressions of Cyclin D1 and E2F1 Gene Machineries in Mycooestrogen Zeralenone-Induced Apoptosis in Testicular Tissue of Rats
Background: Zearalenone (ZEA) is known as a nonsteroidal oestrogenic mycotoxin produced by different species of Fusarium fungi. ZEA is known for its competitive effects with the natural 17-β estradiol to bind with the specific binding sites of the estrogen receptors (Ers). On the other hand, the cyclin family (especially cyclin D1) and E2F1 genes are the checkpoint genes involved in cell cycle....

Background: Researchers argue that supplements are somewhat capable of influencing the lung tissue exposed to smoking carcinogens through cell cycle. Cyclin D1 is a gene involved in cell cycle. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effects of 12-week injection of Nigella sativa nano-capsule on the expression of Cyclin D1 of the lung tissue of the rats receiving exposure to Nicotine-Der...

Objective(s): Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most significant health condition around the world. As the only curative therapies, liver transplantation and surgical resection are the clinical treatments of HCC. Due to the systemic toxicity and severe side effects of these treatments, it is vital to establish new therapeutic approaches. The present study ai...
متن کاملNegative control of Strictisidine synthase like-7 gene on salt stress resistance in Arabidopsis thaliana
Strictosidine synthase-like (SSL) is a group of gene families in the Arabidopsis genome, which whose orthologues in other plants are key enzymes in mono-terpenoid indole-alkaloid biosynthesis pathway. The SSL7 is upregulated upon treatments of Arabidopsis plants with signaling molecules such as SA, methyl jasmonate and ethylene. To find the functional role of the gene, a T-DNA-mediated knockout...
